$4,000 per trip… human smuggling mafia crosses into Lebanon!
Human smuggling networks on the Lebanese–Syrian border have returned to the forefront, with footage showing people using illegal routes in Akkar as part of an organized path that begins in Syria and may extend to the northern coast ahead of migration to Europe. The cost of smuggling one person ranges between $150 and $200, and moving at least 20 people in some trips can generate about $4,000 per trip. Military sources denied an exceptional wave or the daily crossing of dozens of people as portrayed, but acknowledged that smuggling operations continue and that closing all routes is very difficult.
