A ransom for his freedom... and the raid preceded payment
The General Directorate of State Security announced that its Zahle office arrested one suspect in the kidnapping of a Syrian national in the Bekaa and holding him for financial extortion, after the two kidnappers demanded a ransom from his family. The operation resulted in freeing the kidnapped man and arresting one suspect, while the search continues for his fugitive brother; the arrested man was referred to the competent judiciary.

- أعلنت المديرية العامة لأمن الدولة أن مواطناً سورياً خُطف في زحلة واحتُجز داخل منزل قرب المدينة الصناعية بهدف ابتزازه مالياً.
- الخاطفان اللبنانيان ع.ق. وذ.ق. طلبا فدية مالية من عائلة المخطوف بعد معرفتهما بوجود شقيقه في إحدى الدول الأوروبية.
- نفذت دورية من مكتب زحلة عملية أمنية أدت إلى تحرير المخطوف وتوقيف أحد المتورطين، فيما فرّ شقيقه ولا يزال البحث جارياً عنه.
- أوضح بيان أمن الدولة أن الموقوف أُحيل إلى القضاء المختص بناءً على إشارة النيابة العامة الاستئنافية في البقاع.
