Al Habtoor decides to sell all its investments in Lebanon
The UAE-based Al Habtoor Group decided to sell all its assets and investments in Lebanon, including hotels, commercial and residential real estate, and land, completing a prior announcement to halt operations. The group said the exit will be organized and each asset evaluated separately. Its investments date to the late 1990s, and in January 2026 it said losses in Lebanon exceeded $1.7 billion, partly linked to restrictions on accessing and transferring its funds from Lebanese banks. Nidal Al-Sabaa warned the move harms Lebanon's investment image and investor confidence.
