Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made escalatory statements against Iran, claiming Israel is ready to launch a preemptive strike on Tehran alone without requiring US approval, amid his election campaign ahead of the October 27 vote. Israel Hayom quoted military officials as saying there is no urgent need to attack before the election, and that the military establishment expects any new confrontation with Iran to be conducted in cooperation with Washington.
