Artan Aydin, Former Erdogan Adviser, Arrested in Investment Funds Case

The Istanbul Public Prosecution arrested Artan Aydin, former adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former Justice and Development Party (AKP) MP, as part of a wide investigation into investment funds and capital market transactions. The operation covered 31 suspects, including five arrested on Thursday alongside Aydin: Abdullah Dal, manager of Kuyash Investment; Fahri Ugur, office manager of the general director of Turkey Insurance; Seyyida Tarim, deputy general director of Terra Holding; and Hakan Arelmaz. The investigation is handled by the bureau for terrorism financing and money laundering crimes based on Capital Markets Board reports, with individual charges not yet disclosed.
