Cabinet session begins at the Grand Serail

The Lebanese Cabinet session began at the Grand Serail as ministers arrived at the headquarters. The Cabinet is expected to appoint a governor for Nabatieh outside the published agenda, with the names put forward being Mohammad Shukr, Mustafa al-Dirani and Mohammad Hazim. Ahead of the session, Justice Minister Adel Nassar warned that storing explosives and moving them outside the framework of the state threaten national security. This coincided with Israeli artillery shelling targeting the Jarmaq area and an Israeli raid on the town of Kafr Tibnit, while reports spoke of an explosion heard near the Syrian capital Damascus.
