Chances of War on Iran Diminish... Trump Under Pressure

US President Donald Trump announced that the US military carried out new "limited strikes" against Iran on Saturday morning targeting its air defense systems, while official Iranian media reported hearing two explosions in the Souza area of Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. As Qatari-led regional mediation accelerates to calm fears of a renewed war, NBC reported that administration and Pentagon officials told Trump the chances of launching a new military campaign are diminishing and that he has eight weeks before the new Democratic-controlled Congress takes office. Senator Chris Van Hollen and Representative Ro Khanna are leading efforts to cut funding for the war.
