Conflicting Accounts on 'Ural' Arrest: In Syria or Lebanon?
Syrian intelligence announced the arrest of Ali Kayyali, known as Meraj Ural, the main suspect in the 2013 Banias massacre, amid conflicting accounts about the location and circumstances of the arrest. A Syrian security source said the operation took place in Lebanon in coordination with Beirut, while a Lebanese source said the arrest was carried out without the knowledge of Lebanese authorities by Turkish and Syrian intelligence. Meanwhile, Anadolu Agency reported that the arrest took place in Syria in a joint operation between Turkish and Syrian intelligence.
