Dubai Disrupts Israel… El Al Cancels Evacuation Flights!

Israeli carrier El Al cancelled on Friday morning its scheduled evacuation flights for Israelis from Dubai after failing to obtain final Emirati approvals, despite long hours of contacts at senior levels. According to a report by journalist Dean Fisher on Israeli Channel 12, talks between senior Israeli officials and the Emirati side did not complete the necessary understandings and permits for Israeli airlines' aircraft to land in the UAE. The fallout extended to Israir, which never opened ticket sales, and Arkia, which is still awaiting a permit, amid fears that the entire evacuation operation could be postponed until tomorrow.
