Dutt to Newsmax: Stop Hacks at Hardware Level, Not Software
Dr. Raj Dutt, founder, chairman and CEO of Advanced Photonic Integrated Circuits Corporation, told Newsmax that countering sophisticated cyberattacks, such as the ShinyHunters hack targeting the FBI, requires stopping intruders at the hardware, silicon and chip level rather than relying on software patches after vulnerabilities are found. He said all penetrations occur through software and cited past disruptions to Pentagon systems, the FAA and airlines, noting his company has worked with the U.S. Air Force Research Lab on chip technology to address this, warning that advances in artificial intelligence could intensify the threat from automated bots and urging consumers to demand hardware-based protection.
