Eisenkot ahead of Netanyahu... anticipated mandate to form Israeli government

Israeli President Isaac Herzog informed the head of the 'Yashar' party, Gadi Eisenkot, of his decision to task him with forming the new government, after he received recommendations from 67 Knesset members against 46 who recommended Benjamin Netanyahu, with the formal mandate to be issued on Sunday, November 8. Eisenkot will be given 28 days, extendable by 14 days. Meanwhile, Netanyahu called for a national unity government and criticized a coalition relying on Arab parties' support, while Channel 12 reported that Trump associates urged Eisenkot to speed up forming a government and sideline Netanyahu.
