Generator bills under scrutiny... and this is September's tariff

Lebanon's Ministry of Energy and Water set the tariff for private generators for September 2026, at 52,840 Lebanese pounds per kilowatt-hour in cities, crowded areas, or areas below 700 meters, and 58,124 pounds in villages and remote areas or those above 700 meters. A fixed amount of 385,000 pounds was added for a 5-ampere subscription and 685,000 pounds for a 10-ampere subscription, with 300,000 pounds for each additional 5 amperes. It stressed the prohibition of imposing additional fees under any pretext, calling for stricter oversight and punishment of violators.
