Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam addressed the Lebanese people about the living and economic situation, saying the economy grew 4.2 percent last year before the war halted the recovery and estimating a contraction of about 6.4 percent this year. Sovereign political sources considered the government's decisions mere painkillers, and said the serious remedy requires disarming Hezbollah because international support, reconstruction and investment will not come while this weapon remains.
