Iranian Funds for Hezbollah... Despite the Blockade
Two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that Iran-backed Hezbollah received $200 million from Tehran to help Lebanese displaced by this year's war with Israel. The sources said Hezbollah received the amount last month despite the United States tightening its economic grip on Iran and the growing difficulty of delivering funds to Tehran's Lebanese ally. One source noted that the Iranian money earmarked for Hezbollah is sent through middlemen who charge four times the usual fees because of the elevated risk.
