Israel Resumes Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon

The Israeli army resumed its airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Saturday morning after days of cautious calm, carrying out more than six raids targeting the towns of Kafr Tibnit, al-Jarmaq, Tulusa, al-Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa and Wadi al-Hujeir, along with ongoing artillery shelling in the western and central sectors. The strikes hit the vicinity of the Ali al-Taher heights, which the Israeli army blew up in September, amid intensive drone flights over Baalbek and southern towns. The escalation comes amid uncertainty over whether the military negotiations session between the Lebanese and Israeli armies in Florida will be held this month.
