Israel Simulates a Strike Path… What Happened Near Iran?

Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a sortie that reached the Iranian border through Syrian and Iraqi airspace, in an operation Israeli and American sources said was aimed at deterring Tehran ahead of Israeli elections scheduled for October 27. Axios quoted the sources as saying the sortie was not linked to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's visit to Ovda Air Base, and some American sources said they had the impression Israel hoped Iran would fire at the aircraft. Later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei of following in his father's footsteps and allowing the development of a nuclear weapon, and called for toppling the regime in Iran.
