Israeli Government Approves Herzog's Visit to Hungary by Phone

Israeli government ministers approved by telephone President Isaac Herzog's visit to Hungary on Tuesday, at the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The visit will last one day, during which Herzog will meet the Hungarian president and the new prime minister, and will take part in the international conference of his "Voice of the People" initiative, which brings together Jewish leaders from around the world. He is also expected to meet the leadership of the Jewish community in Hungary. This is the first visit by a senior Israeli official to Hungary since Viktor Orbán's election defeat and the change of government in the country.
