"Lebanese Forces": An Escalating Course in Demands and Political Confrontation

The Lebanese Forces party is escalating its political and demands-based confrontation inside the government after Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi's abstention and the withdrawal of other ministers from cabinet sessions in protest at the electricity file and the postponement of referring the Dahr al-Baydar shipment file to the Judicial Council. The party demands action on the fundamentals of the electricity sector and the implementation of sovereign decisions. MP Ghayath Yazbek said the party has not yet decided to leave the government but is pressing it to accelerate implementation, amid indications that the confrontation could reach resignation.
