Lebanese Foreign Minister meets UN Under-Secretary-General
Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji discussed with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix on Friday the situation in south Lebanon and the future of the international presence after 's mission ends in its current form. Rajji reiterated Lebanon's position calling for maintaining an international force to replace UNIFIL when its mission ends at the end of the current year, while Lacroix indicated that the Security Council will soon begin negotiations on this file.

- أشار لاكروا إلى أن مجلس الأمن سيباشر قريباً مفاوضات بشأن هذا الملف، مؤكداً التزام الأمم المتحدة بدور بنّاء مع الاحترام الكامل لموقف لبنان.
- اتفق الجانبان على تكثيف الجهود لتذليل العقبات وضمان استمرار حضور دولي تحت راية الأمم المتحدة في جنوب لبنان.
