Lebanese Foreign Ministry clarifies judicial measures against Ambassador Moawad

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry clarified that reports about judicial measures against Lebanon's ambassador to the United States, Nada Hamada Moawad, are inaccurate, stressing that any judicial measure against a public employee requires explicit approval from the competent minister, and that the ambassador's mission is by delegation from the President and in agreement with the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Washington condemned the referral of a complaint against Moawad to the military judiciary, while the move sparked rejection from political figures and parties.
