Lebanon and the Psychology of Sick Governance
The article examines Lebanon's governance crisis through a psychological and political analysis of the triad of deliberation, maneuvering, and bartering, arguing that these have become mechanisms for producing incapacity, dismantling responsibility, and normalizing deviation from institutional integrity. The writer argues that the constitution is invoked in discourse while its effectiveness is suspended in practice, and that reform is resisted by being contained and fragmented. It proposes a deconstructive approach to reveal the conditions that make certain decisions possible and others impossible.
