Lebanon announces rise in death toll from Israeli strikes

The Health Emergency Operations Center at Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that the cumulative toll from Israeli strikes on Lebanon since March 2 has reached 4,386 dead and 12,424 wounded, while the overall toll from October 8, 2023 until Saturday rose to 8,953 dead and 30,660 wounded. The statement noted that Israeli raids continued to target wide areas in southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley despite successive ceasefire announcements and extensions, before the strikes escalated again in the recent period.
