Lebanon: Aoun stresses security control and preventing armed displays

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun chaired a security meeting on Monday and stressed the need to strictly enforce laws, prevent armed displays, confiscate weapons and ammunition, speed up investigations, and refer violators to the competent judiciary. He called for the highest levels of readiness, coordination, and information-sharing among security and military agencies, warned against exploiting economic conditions to disturb security, and requested strengthening the presence of the Internal Security Forces, General Security, and State Security in southern villages and towns not under Israeli occupation.
