Lebanon's General Security has begun legal procedures to cancel security documents preventing more than 600,000 Syrians from entering the country for years, through a security-administrative committee formed by Director General Major General Hassan Choucair. The move aims to settle the status of those whose violations were not linked to criminal offenses, with tens of thousands of files already completed and the number potentially reaching about 600,000, under a new mechanism allowing legal entry for tourism or work and curbing people-smuggling networks.
