Maariv: Washington demanded Israel launch a unilateral attack on Iran

A report published by the Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed that the United States asked Israel, during talks over the Iranian file, to launch a unilateral military attack on Iran instead of participating with U.S. forces. The report, by writer Ben Caspit, said the request came amid the Trump administration's hesitation due to the midterm elections, and that Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir warned a unilateral attack could postpone Israel's elections, while Washington backed off its demand as of publication. It also cited reports that Iran is restoring its missile and drone capabilities and claims that Russia is supplying Tehran with missiles.
