Mahfoud: I fear the deadline may have passed

The head of the Change Movement party, lawyer Elie Mahfoud, wrote on X that Lebanon had a real opportunity to exit the grip of the militia and restore its state and sovereignty, but accused Hezbollah of thwarting it through security manipulation and betting on time. He warned that the international deadline may have passed and that Lebanon could pay the price with a comprehensive collapse, arguing that saving the country and building a real state cannot continue while a weapon contests the state's authority.
