Many injuries after bus falls from a slope in Catalonia

A bus carrying passengers veered off road BV-5114 in Fogars de Montclús, about an hour's drive northeast of Barcelona, on Sunday and fell down a steep slope. Emergency medical services sent 33 ambulances and three helicopters to treat 87 people, seven of them in serious condition, while rescue teams continued searching the area to ensure there were no other victims. Local police are investigating whether the bus was overcrowded and the cause of the accident; the driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol, and a crane arrived on Monday to recover the bus from the slope.
