Netanyahu Threatens Preemptive Strike on Iran Without Washington
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his country's readiness to carry out a preemptive strike against Iran without American assistance, placing the overthrow of the regime in Tehran among his goals, during the presentation of Israel's updated 2026 national security doctrine. The announcement coincided with US President Donald Trump's support for Netanyahu ahead of scheduled for October 27. For his part, the head of Iran's General Staff, Ali Abdollahi, warned of a "more destructive" response to any new attack and directed threats at Washington and Tel Aviv.
