New ideas with Qatari mediators... Araghchi awaits Washington's response

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that he met a Qatari mediator in New York and discussed ideas that the Qataris will present to the American side regarding Tehran's conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz, with the final US response to be conveyed to Iran, expressing hope it arrives on Tuesday. He said Iran's "seven-point plan" was conveyed to Washington through a Qatari mediator, and that he is still awaiting an official response despite US President Donald Trump's statements, noting that any decision on a response will be taken in Tehran. He described Iran's conditions as fair and logical, strongly denied reports of Iranian flexibility on the nuclear file, and stressed that his country's positions have not changed. He added that he will leave New York for Tehran within hours and that the Qataris will inform him of the response as soon as it is available.
