Olive Harvest Season in Lebanon: Challenges and Risks
With the start of October, Lebanese families and olive presses are preparing for the olive harvest season. Farmers in southern Lebanon face difficulties due to war-damaged land and unexploded ordnance that hinder access to fields, leading to lower production and the destruction of olive presses. Families rely on the season to secure their oil and olive supply and sell the surplus to cover living expenses.
