Passing of former US Ambassador to Lebanon Vincent M. Battle

The US Embassy in Beirut mourned former US Ambassador to Lebanon Vincent M. Battle, who passed away after a diplomatic career spanning more than three decades, during which he served as US Ambassador to Lebanon between 2001 and 2004 and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Beirut between 1991 and 1994. US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa said in a post on X that Battle "served Lebanon and the United States with dedication and distinction," and held a deep love for Lebanon and the Lebanese people that led him to make it his home after his diplomatic career ended.
