President Aoun: Electricity sector reform is a national strategic priority

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said electricity sector reform is a national strategic priority that transcends political and sectarian affiliations, during a meeting with the board of Electricité du Liban headed by engineer Nassib Nasr, in which he was briefed on the governance plan prepared and approved by the board in cooperation with the World Bank and the steps underway to complete its implementation, as well as several files due to be presented to the Council of Ministers. Aoun urged the board to work independently and transparently and not to be swayed by criticism as long as it abides by the law and the public interest.
