Progress in US-Iran negotiations

The New York Times reported that Iran is reviewing a set of proposals presented by mediators regarding the future of its nuclear program, a step that could represent progress in diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war with the United States and avoiding renewed military confrontation between the two countries. The newspaper quoted five officials familiar with the negotiations, including an American official and two Iranian officials, as saying Tehran has shown readiness to resume nuclear talks after weeks of refusing to offer any concessions, noting that officials described the proposed items as concrete proposals without disclosing their details. US Vice President JD Vance emerged, according to three of the officials, as one of the most prominent supporters of Qatari efforts to avoid military escalation.
