Qatari Electricity for Lebanon

Reports indicate that the efforts led by President Joseph Aoun during his visit to Washington produced a road map to address Lebanon's electricity crisis, starting with a quick solution via Syria and ending with a permanent project inside Lebanon. Qatar has expressed readiness to provide exceptional financing for importing electricity from Syria in the first phase, allowing an increase in supply hours and easing pressure on Electricité du Liban, before later contributing to a permanent solution through a project implemented inside Lebanon, with technical studies to determine production, financing and operation mechanisms.
