Report: Wanted Syrian Fugitives Under Intelligence Protection on Lebanese Territory

The website Spot Shot reported that Syria's chargé d'affaires in Beirut, Iyad Al-Hazzaa, has shown notable interest during his official meetings in gathering information about former security figures wanted by Syria's new authorities, amid speculation that some of them are present in Lebanon, even though Lebanese authorities have officially informed the Syrian side that they have not found any of these wanted individuals on Lebanese territory. The report said the pursuit focuses on lower-ranking officers, while senior figures remain outside the scope of actual prosecution, with some residing in Lebanon with the knowledge of Lebanese authorities and under intelligence protection.
