Rifi: Ahmed al-Assir is "Lebanon's Mandela"

Lebanese MP Ashraf Rifi said in a statement that "the stupidity of some of those in power, past and present, in Lebanon" had turned Sheikh Ahmed al-Assir into "Lebanon's Mandela," and did not rule out that the two sides could swap places if this stupidity continues. He added in his statement, "At your service, O oppressed ones," stressing that "the justice of heaven does not disappear" when the justice of earth does, amid reports of a Sunni movement rejecting an "amnesty" and remarks by al-Assir's wife to MTV.
