State Security arrests suspect in Tabbaya armed clash

Lebanon's General Directorate of State Security arrested a person suspected of taking part in the armed clash that occurred in the town of Tabbaya in the Sidon district on 13 August 2026 and left several people injured. The directorate said in a statement that a patrol from its Sidon office, part of the Regional South Directorate, identified the suspect, the Lebanese national "H.A.", and arrested him after surveillance operations, as he had been in hiding. The statement added that he confessed during interrogation to what was attributed to him, and that a judicial warrant was found against him. Legal measures were taken and he was referred to the competent judiciary.
