State Security Pursues Generator Violations... Arrests in Beirut

The General Directorate of State Security announced that a joint patrol from the Information and Special Operations Directorate and the Beirut Regional Directorate carried out, on November 5, 2026, and upon the instruction of Beirut's Public Prosecutor of Cassation, measures against four people working in the private generator sector in the areas of Barbour, Zaydaniyeh, Ras Beirut and Ras al-Nabaa, over violations including incomplete installation of meters, breaching the official tariff, and selling electricity without issuing receipts to subscribers. Three were detained for 24 hours, while the fourth was left under investigation out of consideration for his health condition after signing an undertaking, with the directorate stressing that its monitoring campaigns will continue.
