Trump: I asked Putin to release an American citizen

A live coverage by Lebanon Debate reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said he asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to release an American citizen, among a series of remarks addressing the war in Ukraine and the stance on Iran. Trump stressed that Ukraine must agree to end the war because the opposite would lead to bad things, said Russia is seeking peace, and that Washington has given a lot to Kyiv without receiving anything in return. On Iran, Trump said things are going very well regarding Iran and that a final decision must be taken on the war with it, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio said reaching an agreement with Iran controlled by hardliners is very difficult and accused it of targeting commercial ships. Russia's TASS agency reported that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Russia tomorrow.
