Trump meets national security team... decision on Iran approaching?

US President Donald Trump held a meeting with his national security advisers to discuss dealing with Iran, the first such meeting since the elections, according to Axios. Trump is currently considering three options: carrying out strikes, continuing economic pressure on the Iranian regime, or reaching an agreement that includes major concessions to Iran. A US official said US Central Command (CENTCOM) is finalizing preparations for the possible resumption of major combat operations in Iran, noting that the US aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and its strike group will spend a few days in Singapore and will not reach CENTCOM's area of responsibility before mid-November. Trump told reporters that a decision would be made soon, preferring to avoid destroying the rest of the country if possible.
