Urgent alert... Counterfeit currency in Lebanese markets? (Video)
Activists circulated a video documenting the account of the father of a Lebanese University student, who said his son received 17 banknotes of 100,000 Lebanese pounds from a taxi driver in the southern suburbs that later turned out to be counterfeit, after paying $20 from which the fare was deducted. The father published the video to warn students and citizens to check banknotes before leaving the transaction site and to inform the competent authorities when suspecting counterfeit currency.
