US officials skeptical of Israeli claims about Iranian chemical weapons
The New York Times reported that Israeli intelligence claiming Iran is considering using chemical weapons against its adversaries has caused division among US officials and skepticism among Gulf officials. Some US officials see the claims as part of a pressure campaign led by Netanyahu to push Trump to resume large-scale military operations against Iran, while US Central Command has drawn up a plan allowing strikes on Iran starting Wednesday.
