US preparations for military escalation against Iran and Trump warnings
US naval vessels in the Middle East are preparing for a possible military escalation against Iran, amid remarks by President Donald Trump giving Tehran a choice between a political agreement or military options. The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials saying no final decision has been made, but forces are raising readiness and conducting training and resupply aboard the USS George Washington and a destroyer in the Arabian Sea. Trump warned Iran at a Florida rally, citing past strikes and the possibility of repeating them.
