Washington strikes a Hamas financing network… French entities under sanctions

The US Treasury imposed sanctions on three individuals and two France-based associations for allegedly operating within a network to finance Hamas. According to the accusations, the network collected over $2 million between 2020 and 2026, including $1.5 million after the October 7, 2023 attack. The sanctions included Salim Abdullah Salim al-Zaq, Fawzi Bureika, and Amal Walid, linked to the associations "Associations Baraka" and "Ensemble C-Mieux". The US Department of Justice announced that French intelligence arrested Bureika, Walid, and another person from the Bureika family.
