"We Are Not Seeking Privileges": Lebanese University Professors Face Postponement
Contract professors at the Lebanese University staged a sit-in on the road to the Presidential Palace in Baabda, coinciding with a Cabinet session, to demand the approval of their full-time employment (tafarrigh) file after years of waiting. Their spokesperson, Dr. Ali Fares, stressed that they are not seeking privileges but fairness and job dignity, warning that continued postponement would lead to further moves and strikes. He emphasized that responsibility for ending the crisis lies with the state and rejected making students bear the cost of the crisis.
