What is Lebanon's Judicial Council?
The Lebanese government is discussing at its Thursday session the referral of the explosives shipment file seized on the Dhahr al-Baydar road, in the possession of two Hezbollah members, to the Judicial Council based on a request from the Ministry of Justice. The Judicial Council is Lebanon's highest exceptional criminal judicial body; cases are referred to it by a Council of Ministers decree and its rulings are not subject to appeal. It has examined major assassinations and bombings in Lebanon.

- المفتي الجعفري أحمد قبلان حذّر من إدخال القضاء في الخلاف السياسي، بينما رأى أبو كسم أن الإحالة طبيعية نظراً لخطورة القضية.
