Will Eisenkot form the government?

The head of the opposition bloc in the Israeli Knesset, Gadi Eisenkot, said he is making progress in his efforts to form a government that would replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, expecting President Isaac Herzog to task him with the mission. Herzog announced that on Sunday he will name the lawmaker tasked with forming the new government, noting that 67 lawmakers supported tasking Eisenkot.
