Gaza: Nearly 8,000 Bodies Under Rubble, 75 Martyrs Laid to Rest in Daraj; International Pressure on Israel Over Settler Attacks

The spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defense told Al Jazeera that nearly 8,000 bodies remain under the rubble of buildings, and that Civil Defense teams are continuing attempts to recover them. Gaza's Ministry of Health announced the burial of 75 martyrs whose remains were recovered from under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.

In the West Bank, attacks escalated as masked settlers attacked Palestinian farmers in the village of Taybeh in the Ramallah governorate in the presence of French and Belgian diplomats, after an attack targeted a convoy of European diplomats in the majority-Christian town of Taybeh and resulted in a 78-year-old French mayor being severely beaten. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot demanded that Israel act "urgently" to stop settler violence and pursue those responsible for the attack, describing it as "horrific," while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed deep concern over settler attacks, stressing that President Donald Trump's administration continues to demand that the Israeli government act to stop these attacks, and revealed that he had seen incidents including the attack on American Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine.

In the southern Gaza Strip, Gaza sources affiliated with Hamas's military wing announced the deaths of a group of Hamas members inside Rafah tunnels in recent days after a siege lasting a year and a half, among them Abdel Fattah Zaqout, a member of the Rafah Brigade, whose relatives confirmed the news. It was also revealed for the first time that the leader of Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, sent a letter to Yahya Sinwar about a month before his martyrdom, addressing Yemen's position on the war in Gaza and the missile and naval operations carried out by his group, praising Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and describing it as well-planned and successfully executed.
