The powers of the Constitutional Council are limited to affirming the constitutionality of laws only. Yet we find it amending the law on reducing penalties and changing many of its tracks on political grounds and pre-existing stances, overstepping the constitutional prerogative of Parliament to legislate. It has the right to reject the appeal or accept it. But what happened raises many questions!!

I am surprised why the Judges Club, which we had hoped would play a reformist role in the path of justice, is trying to cover up the many violations of the military judiciary and some security agencies in the era of tutelage. They issue statement after statement against the general amnesty law... and this is a democratic right... but!! I advise them to visit prisons to verify the slow pace of justice
