Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health issued a warning against eating wild mushrooms of unknown type or source, after two poisoning cases were recorded, one of which required intensive care. The ministry explained that some toxic types resemble edible ones and cannot be distinguished with the naked eye, and that cooking does not remove the toxic substances, urging people to refrain from gathering mushrooms from forests, fields and gardens and to rely on buying from trusted sources.
